- Ensure security and compliance standards are maintained throughout the migration lifecycle and in the target AWS environment.
- Serve as the technical authority on AWS best practices for cloud migration, optimization, and modernization.
- Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization roadmap and architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, orchestrating key resources and infusing key infrastructure technologies.
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline the migration process.
- Drive cost optimization by recommending rightsizing of resources and leveraging Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and other AWS cost management features.
- Develops architecture solutions and evaluates alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
- Use architectural design principles to develop robust, efficient, and secure cloud solutions based on customer requirements.
- Architect, engineer, and deploy/provision secure and robust cloud services that include IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS and support service quality, outage management, subscription management, correlation of usage, and charges, and cost-efficient solution architecture.
- Develops architectural strategies/solutions to ensure application high availability in both hybrid (on-premise / cloud) and fully cloud hosted applications to provide an ‘always on’ experience.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for cloud end-to-end architecture, including current and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management.
- Document technical designs, migration runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to refactor and modernize applications to take full advantage of cloud-native services (e.g., containers, serverless).
- Provides technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to owners.
- Ensures delivered solutions meets technical and functional/non-functional performance requirements within.
- Evaluate, design, and implement solutions for migrating on-premise applications to cloud hosting solutions.
- Use standardized process for mapping business needs to available cloud technology options, including assessment of risks and possible mitigations.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop tools and documentation to enable the support organizations to resolve customer issues, including complex technical scenarios dealing with the cloud architecture.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience with one or more CSP’s and relevant certifications.
- Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale cloud systems and applications.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong, demonstrable experience with AWS Migration Hub and associated services (e.g., AWS Application Migration Service/MGN, AWS Database Migration Service/DMS).
- Proven ability to implement and manage migration wave planning, including discovery and dependency mapping.
- Expertise in cost optimization, performance tuning, and security hardening in the AWS cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with cloud security, networking, and governance.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
- Experience using coding languages.
- Experience architecting and building scalable, automated infrastructure.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments.
- Experience in a consultative, client-facing consulting role.
- Understanding of load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN, and VPN technologies.
- Knowledge of Cloud Architecture patterns and strategies (including IaaS, PaaS, Security, Compute, Storage and networking).
- Functional knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with “Serverless” systems.
- Relevant AWS certifications or other cloud platform certifications are strongly preferred and considered a significant differentiator.
- Experience migrating large-scale data platforms, analytics systems, or high-performance computing workloads.

- Work is normally performed in an on-site and remote environment.
