Summary  
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator IV to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and leading the operations, maintenance, and technical administration of enterprise-level physical access control and video surveillance systems for our customer’s facilities This is an on-site position with the possibility of telework arrangement and plays a key role in ensuring secure and uninterrupted access to mission-critical sites through system monitoring, troubleshooting, and compliance activities aligned with federal security and operational requirements. You will also be responsible for supervising assigned technical personnel, ensuring operational tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational and federal standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide direct supervision and oversight to assigned technical personnel, including prioritizing workloads, delegating tasks, and monitoring progress.

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, server hardware, and enterprise applications.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security; take proactive measures to address issues before they impact operations.
  • Perform system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery testing in accordance with established policies.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in compliance with organizational security standards.
  • Apply operating system and application patches, updates, and configuration changes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as required.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident response planning. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Write and maintain detailed documentation for code, architecture, and processes.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers and system engineers for advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, and integration support.
  • Provision and deprovision user access, maintain role-based permissions, and update facility configurations as needed to reflect site-specific requirements.
  • Respond to after-hours incidents or access issues on a rotating basis, in accordance with established response time requirements.

Information Security and Confidentiality Obligations
  • Ensure adherence to organizational information security policies and procedures; actively participate in mandatory security awareness training; and manage confidential and sensitive information in accordance with company protocols and data protection standards
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of relevant system administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with C-CURE, Milestones, and ServiceNow.
  • CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Work environment
  • This work will be performed on-site in Silver Spring, MD, with the possibility of a telework arrangement.
Physical demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
